This sales position is responsible for maintaining the non-tire accounts and is designed as a step toward major account management for the company. The Account Manager assists the sales team in attaining the monthly and annual targets through active involvement with other account managers, engineers, management and customers. This position is instrumental in assuring focused and productive communication with new and existing customers, internal customers and vendors. The Account Manager works to resolve customer inquiries, ensure customer satisfaction, and performs various administrative functions essential for everyday sales effectiveness. The Account Manager is required to learn the clients’ product line and the application of our products.



• Learn the product line and offering in order to promote the products and services of the company to customers

• Respond to customer inquiries via telephone or visit to determine the best course of action

• Communicate with sales team, engineers and management for status of orders and position of sales

• Prepare proposals, sales reports and presentations with direction from General Manager of Sales

• Maintain customer records, status of sales orders and other functions in our CRM database

• Support Regional Account Managers by providing back-up support for major customers and prospects

• Support Aftermarket Parts and Service Groups by sharing prospect and customer information

• Periodically join Regional Account Managers on field sales calls to secure new business opportunities

• Coordinate / host customer inspection visits with Regional Account Managers and Engineers

• Coordinate all kick-off meetings for all assigned sales projects

• Respond immediately to customer needs and routinely exceed customer expectations

• Periodically inform customers of progress, including delivery updates and progress with teardowns

• Maintain accurate project records including costing, pricing and technical specifications

• Assist Lab Manager with customer trials as necessary to better learn the functionality of our equipment

• Setup and attend industry related events including trade shows and meetings

• Complete assigned projects as requested

• Record customer notes, updates, project status and sales forecasts in Visual CRM system

• Regularly update sales projection reports

• Assist with market research and competitive analysis as directed

• Attend equipment installation, startup and service calls as requested

• Follow internal procedures including guidelines for pricing and approvals

• Deliver requested data, reports and updates on a timely basis

• Follow-up on all leads promptly

• Support the efforts of other departments

• Conduct business and represent the company in a professional manner at all times

• Perform other responsibilities as needed to accomplish customer satisfaction

  • Undergraduate degree in business and/or engineering
  • 2-3 years’ work experience, ideally in a customer-service, sales or other customer-facing position, preferably for a manufacturer of heavy duty custom capital equipment
  • Technical ability
  • Self-motivated and results driven with a desire to pursue a career path as a sales professional
  • Strong verbal communication skills and technical writing skills
  • Intermediate level Excel and Word skills required; PowerPoint, SharePoint and some CRM familiarity a plus
  • Proven ability to work well with others in a team environment in both leadership and support roles
  • Must be able to work in the mill room area of a rubber processing or manufacturing facility
